Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information MATHINKCO LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Brainega", "we") collects through Brainega.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your email address and, if given, your name. For test takers, a test maker may also add a grade and section.
- Test activity: which tests you were given, when you started and submitted, your answers, and your scores.
- Proctoring information (only for proctored tests, and only after the test taker agrees on screen): webcam photos taken at the start and at random times during the test; microphone loudness numbers (we do not record or keep any audio); and notes when the test taker leaves fullscreen or switches to another tab.
- Payment information (organization administrators who buy a plan): your payment is handled by Stripe, which may also ask for a billing address or tax details where tax rules require. We receive the status of the payment, the plan, the amount, and a payment reference. We do not receive or store your card or bank details. Test takers never give payment information.
- Technical information: basic information your browser sends when you use the site.
2. Why we use it
- To run the service: to sign you in, deliver tests, score and mark them, and show results.
- To let a test maker review a test fairly, using the proctoring information.
- To take payments, manage plans, and prevent fraud.
- To send you the sign-in codes and service messages you need.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who sees it
- Test makers see the results, answers, and proctoring information of the test takers on their own tests. The administrator of an organization can see the tests and test takers of that organization. Proctoring photos are shown only to them. Brainega staff do not view proctoring photos, test answers, or results.
- Test takers see only their own results, and only what the test maker has chosen to release.
- Service providers that help us run Brainega: database and sign-in hosting (Supabase), website hosting (Netlify), email delivery of sign-in codes and invitations (Resend), and payments (Stripe). They process information only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, if the law requires us to share information.
Some of these providers may store information on servers in other countries.
4. How long we keep it
- Proctoring photos are deleted automatically after 30 days. Test makers who need to keep them must download them within that time.
- Tests, answers, and results are kept while the account is active so that test makers have their records. A test maker's administrator can delete test takers from the organisation, which also deletes their attempts, answers, and proctoring information for that organisation.
- Payment records are kept as long as we need them for accounting and legal reasons.
4A. Organizations
For the tests and test takers of an organization, we handle personal information on behalf of that organization, under our data processing terms. We do not sell it or share it with anyone except the service providers listed above.
5. Children
Schools and other organisations may use Brainega with students who are under 18. The test maker (the school) is responsible for informing parents or guardians and for getting any permission the law requires before proctoring. Parents or guardians can ask the school, or write to us, about a child's information.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop proctoring-related processing, by writing to support@brainega.com. Because test makers are responsible for their tests, we may need to involve the test maker in your request. We will answer within a reasonable time. You can also contact us with any complaint about how we handle your information.
7. Cookies and storage
Brainega keeps your sign-in in your browser so you do not need a new code on each visit. We do not use advertising cookies.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access rules so that each organisation sees only its own data, and limited access for our team. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
